A superb French cello bow made by J.J. Martin for J.B. Vuillaume ca. 1860-1863, branded "VUILLAUME A PARIS". The stick is red pernambuco of outstanding quality and beautiful figuration, round in shape. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 70 cm and the weight of the bow is 75 g. This is a first class, strong cello bow with a soloist level sound and handling. The bow is in excellent state of preservation. This bow is recommended to a soloist or a collector, as a wonderful example of the maker's work.
