A very fine French violin bow made by N. Maire ca. 1840, branded on the stick. This is a very beautiful example of the maker in a remarkable condition. The stick is dark red brown pernambuco, spectacularly flamed, very strong with an outstanding tonal quality, superb balance and handling. This rare violin bow is suitable for a demanding soloist or a collector. The length of the stick is 73.3 cm, the weight of the bow is 63 g.
