A very fine, rare French violin bow made by Nicolas Joseph Harmand, ca. 1830, branded on the stick above the frog "HARMAND". This is a wonderful classical bow, made in personal style and also recalling in some details work of Pajeot, Lupot and Tourte. The stick is fine dark chocolate pernambuco, octagonal, strong and flexible with a first class sound and handling. The frog is ebony and silver, the button is ebony with two silver rings. This bow will please a collector or a great player who appreciate particularly outstanding French bows of this period. The weight of the bow is 59 g.
