A very fine French violin bow made by Jean Joseph Martin ca. 1860 for J.B. Vuillaume, branded "VUILLAUME A PARIS". This is a superb example, also a wonderful sounding and handling bow from very interesting and important period of the maker's work. The stick is excellent red brown pernambuco, round in shape. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 72.5 cm and the weight of the bow is 60 g with probably original tinsel winding. This wonderful bow is recommended to a very fine musician, including leader of the orchestra or a soloist.
