A fine German violin bow made by Carl Henrich Knopf ca. 1875 in Berlin. Carl Heinrich Knopf was a very important German bow maker. He made some excellent bows for well known shops of Bausch family and and Nikolai Kittel. This is a good example in a fine state of preservation. The stick is dark red brown pernambuco, octagonal, strong with a fine handling and beautiful sound. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 72.9 cm and the weight of the bow is 59 g.
