A very fine English gold mounted violin bow made by James Tubbs ca. 1885. This is a superb example from the maker's best period of work. It is also a rare, solo level playing bow in excellent state of preservation with almost all the original varnish still remaining in place. The stick is excellent red brown pernambuco, the frog and button are ebony with gold mountings. This exciting example is highly recommended to a soloist or a collector. The length of the stick is 73 cm and the weight of the bow is 60 g.
