A rare, very fine old German violin bow made by Christian Wilhelm Knopf ca. 1820. This is a superb example made with close inspiration of Tourte model. The stick is top quality golden orange pernambuco of superior selection and figuration, octagonal with excellent flexibility, first class sound and handling. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 73.2 cm, the weight of the bow is 58 g. This top level bow is in a very good state of preservation with an original tip (winding is probably original), suitable for a very fine and demanding musician.
