A rare, fine French violin bow by Francois Peccatte, ca. 1850.
A fine French violin bow made by Francois Peccatte ca. 1850. This is excellent sounding and handling bow in a good state of preservation. The stick is fine red brown amourette, round in shape. The frog and button are ebony with nickel mountings made by Francois Peccatte, but from another bow of the same period. The original ferrule has some metal missing, so it was replaced together with heal metal. The button has one pin replaced in outer ring. This is a wonderful playing bow.
