A rare, old German cello bow made by Christian Friedrich Wilhelm Knopf ca.1835-1840. This is a wonderful example made with an inspiration of F.X. Tourte model. The stick is excellent quality orange brown pernambuco, octagonal, strong with a perfect balance and a first class, wonderful sound and excellent handling. The length of the stick is 70.2 cm, the weight of the bow is 81 g. This is a top level bow in excellent, very pure state of preservation retaining an original head plate. The bow suitable for a finest musician including a soloist or a demanding collector.
