French cello bow by Jean “Grand” Adam, ca. 1840.
A very fine French cello bow made by Jean “Grand” Adam ca. 1840. A very nice frog and button are made for the stick in the style of Adam. The length of the stick is 67.3 cm and the weight of the bow is 81.5 g. This is excellent bow from the master’s first period. The round stick is golden brown pernambuco of superior choice and figuration, the frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. Excellent sounding and handling example.
