A very fine French violin made by Telesphore Barbe in 1857, signed by the maker to the top. Barbe was a wonderful violin maker, also made instruments working for J.B. Vuillaume. This particular example is one of the best. It is in rarely fine state of preservation with excellent tone. The length of the back is 35.8.
