German violin bow by Richard Weichold, ca. 1890
A fine German violin bow made by Richard Weichold, ca. 1890. This is an excellent example with a wonderful handling and sound. The stick is red brown pernambuco, octagonal, branded “R. WEICHOLD DRESDEN”. The frog is ebony with gold mountings and inlaid pearl eyes. The button is ebony with two gold rings. The lenght of the stick is 72.8 g and the weight of the bow is 59.5 g.
