Italian violin by Celeste Farotti, 1901
A fine Italian violin made by Celeste Farotti in 1901, as indicated on the original label. This is a very beautiful instrument and a superb example of the maker’s work. The model and outline, been similar to the master’s Romeo Antoniazzi, is probably also inspired by the classical Milanese Testore model. The violin is in a very fine state of preservation. The sound of this instrument is surprising mature, deep and clear with easy response and a wonderful character. The length over the back is 35.5 cm.
