French cello bow made by Nicolas Maire, c. 1845.
French cello bow made by Nicolas Maire c. 1845 with frog and button made by Etienne Pajeot from the same period. This is a wonderful cello bow in a fine state of preservation retaining an original head plate with only some cosmetic marks, no repairs. The stick is red brown pernambuco of superior choice and figuration. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 69.4 cm and the weight of the bow is 80 g. This is a strong and excellent sounding example, suitable for a very fine musician.
