French violin bow by Jean-Joseph Martin, circa 1870.

A fine French violin bow made by Jean-Joseph Martin ca. 1870. This is a very nice example and excellent sounding and handling bow. The stick is red brown pernambuco, round in shape. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 72.8 cm and the weight of the bow is 57 g. The bow is in a fine state of preservation.
