French violin bow by Joseph Rene Lafleur, Paris, ca. 1845.
A fine, rare French violin bow by Joseph Rene Lafleur made in Paris, ca. 1845 with the frog by Nicolas Maline and button by Jean “Grand” Adam. This is a wonderful bow from a great French master. Josepf Lafleur was born on June 8 of 1812 in Paris. He was a pupil of his father, Jaques Lafleur and gained some additional skills from Lupot while working in his the shop. The bow is made of beautifully flamed red-brown pernambuco of superior selection and it plays as great as it looks! The weight of the bow is 60 g with tinsel winding. Overall condition is very good with no issues with some normal natural wear at the handle aria from playing.
