French violin made by Auguste Sébastien Philippe Bernardel père, circa 1840.

A very fine French violin made by Auguste Sebastien Philippe Bernardel Pere in Paris circa 1840. Bernardel Pere was a pupil of Lupot and one of the best and most interesting French makers of the 19th century. This is a wonderful example made with inspiration (probably as a specific copy) of Stradivarius 1720-1726 period instrument. It is in excellent state of preservation. The length over the back is 35.75 cm. This is excellent sounding, high level instrument with broad range of colors,  depth, clarity and easiness to play. We recommend it to a very serious musician seeking a great quality (solo type) instrument in quite reasonable price range.
