Italian violin made by Stefano Scarampella c. 1910 in Mantova with inspiration of a superb Tomasso Balestrieri model. This is one of the finest examples of the prime period of the work from this great, most important Italian violin maker of the late 19th/20th century. The instrument is magnificently made by a true artist with great character and talent, fast and free execution, recalling in approach old Italian 18th century masters. The instrument is in excellent state of preservation and suitable for solo performers or a high class collector. The length over the back is 35.8 cm.
