Rare, fine French 3/4 size violin by Francois Barbe, ca. 1840
A rare, fine old French 3/4 size violin made by Francois Barbe in Avallon ca. 1840, as indicated on the maker’s label. This is a very nice example in a fine, all original condition including varnish, original neck and fingerboard. The length over the back is 33.5 cm. This is also a fine sounding instrument with a broad model and a wonderful arching.
