French violin bow by Nicolas Maline, ca. 1860, rare Tourte inspired model
A superb French violin bow made by Nicolas Maline ca. 1860. This a fabulous, rare example made with inspiration of F.X. Tourte model. This is a solo level sounding and handling bow and it feels very much like Tourte! The stick is dark red brown pernambuco of excellent quality, the frog is ebony with nickel silver mountings, the button is ebony with nickel silver rings and cap. The bow is in a very good state of preservation. The length of the stick is 73 cm and the weight of the bow is 60 g.
