German violin bow by C.F.W. Knopf, ca. 1835.

A very fine old German violin bow made by C.F.W. Knopf ca. 1835. This is excellent example in a very fine state of preservation. The stick is golden orange pernambuco of superior choice, octagonal, strong with a perfect flexibility and fine balance. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings and beautiful pearl decoration. The length of the stick is 73.1 cm, the weight of the bow is 61 g. This is a superb playing bow, suitable for a soloist, also a rare collector’s item in exceptional state of preservation.
