A rare, very fine English violin bow made by James Dodd ca. 1850. This is a very beautiful example in pristine state of preservation with all original parts including pearl inlays, slide, tip. The stick is red brown pernambuco of excellent choice, octagonal, 71.9 cm long and the weight of the bow with very light tinsel winding is 59 g. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. This is excellent sounding and handling bow, suitable for a fine musician or a demanding collector.
