French certified violin bow Henri Louis Gillet, ca.1940.NICE
A very fine French violin bow made by Henri Louis Gillet ca. 1940. This is a wonderful octagonal example made with an inspiration of Peccatte model. Gillet was an outstanding maker who was working with Sartory from 1926 until 1946. The bow is in a fine state of preservation. It is a wonderful playing bow. The stick is orange brown pernambuco, octagonal, strong and excellent sounding. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 73 cm and the weight of the bow is 58 g with original, very light tinsel winding.
