French viola bow made by Charles Claude Husson for Gand & Bernardel, circa 1880.
A very fine French viola bow made by Charles Claude Husson (1849-1915) for the firm of Gand & Bernardel ca. 1880. Charles Claude was apprenticed in the family workshop and later worked for J.B. Vuillaume (from 1873-1875), also for F.N. Voirin and Gand and Bernardel.
This is a very nice example in an excellent state of preservation. The length of the stick is 72.8 cm and the weight of the bow is 70 g.
