French violin bow by Charles Nicolas Bazin, ca. 1890

A very fine old French violin bow made by Charles Nicolas Bazin ca. 1890 on Tourte model, branded “TOURTE”. This is a very beautiful example, also a fine sounding bow in excellent sate of preservation. The stick is orange brown pernambuco of superior choice and beautiful figuration, round, strong with excellent flexibility, good balance,fine handling and very beautiful sound. The length of the stick is 72.8 cm and the weight of the bow is 58.5 g. Highly recommended as a fine and interesting example to a musician or a collector.
