French violin bow by François Lupot II, ca. 1820

A very fine French violin bow by François Lupot II, ca. 1820 with later made button by a maker of Knopf family. This is a wonderful bow made with inspiration of Tourte model. The stick is golden brown pernambuco, octagonal, strong, responsive, very well balanced. The length of the stick is 72.2 cm and the weight of the bow is 60g. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. This is excellent sounding bow in a very good state of preservation.
