Very fine French violin bow by Francois Xavier Bazin ca. 1850

A very fine French violin bow made by Francois Xavier Bazin, ca. 1850. F.X. Bazin was a fine and interesting bow maker. He was influenced (some sources suggest trained) by the great Dominique Peccatte. There are some strong stylistic and technical details pointing out to Francois close collaboration with Nicolas Simon. This is a wonderful, high level example in a fine state of preservation. The length of the stick is 72.1 cm and the weight of the bow (with very light, probably original tinsel winding) is 58 g. This excellent bow is recommended to a fine musician seeking a high level mid 19th century French bow in moderate price range.
