French violin bow by Nicolas Maline, ca. 1855

A very fine French violin bow made by Nicolas Maline ca. 1855, branded on the stick above the frog “MALINE”. The stick is red brown pernambuco, the frog is ebony with silver mountings, the button is ebony and silver. This is a magnificent example in excellent state of preservation with outstanding tone and finest handling ability, suitable for a soloist. The length of the stick is 73 cm and the weight of the bow is 61.5 g.
