German cello bow by L. Bausch ca.1840
A very fine German cello bow made by Ludwig Christian August Bausch ca. 1840. L. Bausch was one of the greatest German bow makers. We have been fortunate to acquire several examples made. This is quite early example, clearly influenced like many others by F.X. Tourte model. The choice of reddish brown pernambuco is excellent. The stick under the frog is reinforced with an original nickel silver plate to assure a long life. Rare example in mint condition.
Certificates: A.Gartsman violins
