Italian violin by Paolo De Barbieri, Genova, 1924
A very fine Italian violin made by Paolo De Barbieri in Genova in 1924, as indicated on the original label, also branded to the ribs below the button and to the upper block and numbered 44 inside next to the upper block. This is a wonderful example and a superb sounding instrument from, in our opinion, the most interesting maker of this fine school. The violin has already a mature appearance with a magnificent texture and consistency light crackle varnish. This instrument in excellent state of preservation free of any repairs. The length over the back is 35.4 cm.
Certificates: A. Gartsman violins.
