A very fine, rare Italian violin made by Carlo Tononi in Venice ca. 1726, branded to the ribs under the end pin. This is a solo level concert sounding instrument with all complexity, exceptionally colorful voice-like timbre, tremendous projection and carrying power. The violin is in a very fine state of preservation without any patches, sound post and bass bar repairs. The length over the back is 35.5 cm.
