French viola bow by Andre Richaume, ca. 1955
A very fine French viola bow made by Andre Richaume ca. 1955. The stick is golden brown pernambuco, round, branded “A. RICHAUME A PARIS”. The length of the stick is 73.1 cm the weight of the bow is 70 g. The frog is ebony with silver mountings and inlaid “Parisian” eyes. The button is ebony with silver cap. This is excellent example, superb playing bow in a fine state of preservation.
