Maire from around 1850 was influenced by the work of D. Peccatte. The work of Nicolas Maire was always highly esteemed by collectors and musicians, but in resent years it became even more in focus and in demand taking an important place among the best French makers from the period. This is an outstanding example of the maker’s work in a remarkably fresh, pristine condition. This wonderful violin bow is suitable for a demanding soloist or a collector.
