Italian viola c. 1840.
A very fine Italian viola made circa 1840 labeled Giacomo Zanoli. This is a rare and wonderful instrument in excellent state of preservation ( just 2 old small repairs on the bass side of the neck). The instrument is covered with original very beautiful reddish-brown varnish that still contains it original appearance, also unaltered thickness of the plates. The length over the back is 40.3 cm (15 7/8 inches). This is a superb sounding instrument with rich colors and wonderful voice, evenness, depth and a nice power.
