French viola by Nicolas Vuillaume, ca. 1850.

A very fine French viola made by Nicolas Vuillaume ca. 1850, as indicated by the maker’s brand-stamp to the lower ribs on top of the button. N. Vuillaume was a fine maker and brother of the great French master          J.B. Vuillaume. This is a beautiful instrument made with inspiration of Stradivari model. It is a superb sounding instrument, ready to play in perfectly restored condition. The length over the back is 15 1/2″.
