French cello bow E. Pajeot, circa 1835

A rare French cello bow made by Etienne Pajeot (1791-1849) circa 1835. Etienne Pajeot was son of a fine and significant bow maker of the period, Louis Simon Pajeot. Etienne received his training in the father’s shop and produced fine bows in his father’s style in his first period of work until c. 1815. Etienne Pajeot was a very gifted bow maker and innovator, so he defined his personal style and reached craftsmanship skills of the highest level, creating some of the most beautiful bows ever made.

This is a remarkable example and fabulous soloist level bow in excellent state of preservation. The length of the stick is 69.5 cm and the weight of the bow is 78 g.
