French cello bow by J. Poirson, ca. 1900
A fine French cello bow made by Justin Poirson ca. 1900, branded on the stick “POIRSON A PARIS”. J. Poirson was one of the important French bow makers, pupil of the great Nicolas Maire, also a maker of fine bows for J.B. Vuillaume. This is a nice example, quite strong, elegant, with a excellent sound and good balance. The length of the stick is 69.3 cm and the weight is of the bow is 77.5 g. It is in very fine condition, ready to play.
