French violin bow by Marie-Louis Piernot, ca. 1925.
A fine French violin bow made by Marie-Louis Piernot ca. 1925 in Paris. It is a nice example made for and branded by the firm of Collin-Mezin. L. Piernot was originally a pupil of C.N. Bazin and mastered his skills with Joseph Arthur Vigneron in Paris. This is a strong bow with excellent sound and handling. The length of the stick is 72.8 cm and the weight of the bow is 62 g. The bow is in a very fine state of preservation, retaining an original winding.
