A rare, exceptional German viola bow made by Christian Friedrich Wilhelm Knopf ca.1855. This is a superb example from the maker’s work made with inspiration of great French contemporary makers, Etienne Pajeot and Nicolas Maire. The bow is in excellent and all original state of preservation. The stick is a wonderful choice of superior snake wood, the pearl frog and button are mounted in gold. The length of the stick is 73.2 cm and the weight of the bow is 70 g. The bow is certified by Isaac Salcow in New York.
