German gold mounted violin bow made by Carl Heinrich Knopf ca.1870, branded “H. KNOPF BERLIN”
A very fine, rare German gold mounted violin bow made by Carl Heinrich Knopf ca.1870, branded “H. KNOPF BERLIN”. The stick is excellent dark red brown pernambuco, the frog and button are ebony with gold mountings. The length of the stick is 72.7, the weight of the bow is 53 g with original, very light tinsel winding. This is a wonderful example and outstanding playing bow, suitable for a very fine musician or a collector.
