French rare violin bow by Georges Frédéric Schwartz c. 1840.

A rare, superb French violin bow made by Georges Frederic Schwartz circa 1840 (with an exception of the button that is excellent and made for this bow). This is a wonderful example, personal interpretation of Tourte model and outstanding playimg bow. The bow is in a very good state of preservation. The stick is dark red brown pernambuco of superior choice. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 72 cm and the weight of the bow is 57 g (with very light tinsel winding). This excellent bow is highly recommended to a soloist or a collector.

Certificates: J.F. Raffin, Y. Le Canu, S. Bigot
