German violin bow by a member of Knopf family ca. 1850.

A fine old German violin bow made by a member of Knopf family circa 1850. This is a good and interesting example in excellent, all original state of preservation. The stick is round, quite strong with a good balance and fine sound. The frog and button are ebony with nickel mountings and inlaid shield shape pearl. The length of the stick is 72.4 cm, the weight of the bow is 60 g (with possibly original, light winding). This is a nice playing bow, with fine and rich sound and excellent handling.
