French violin bow by Joseph Henry, ca. 1865.
A rare French violin bow made by Joseph Henry ca. 1865 (with French later made c. 1900 frog and button). The stick is beautiful, nicely flamed dark reddish-brown pernambuco of superior selection, round in shape. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 73.35 cm and the weight of the bow is 61 g. This is a first class, firm, superb playing bow that is suitable for any period and style music perforformances.
