French violin bow made by Dominique Peccatte in Paris circa 1845. This is a very fine example and a superb performing bow. The octagonal stick is reddish-brown pernambuco of excellent selection; the original frog and button made by Pierre Simon during the period of these two great makers’ collaboration work. This excellent playing bow is suitable for a finest musician, including a soloist. The bow is in a fine state of preservation. The length of the stick is 72.65 cm and the weight of the bow is 59 g (with silk/tinsel winding).
