German violin bow by C.W. Knopf, ca. 1820.

A superb old German violin bow made by Christian Wilhelm Knopf ca. 1820. This is a great example, also a solo level violin bow similar to the work of contemporary great classical French master’s. The stick is excellent quality golden orange pernambuco, octagonal, strong with a perfect balance, first class sound and handling. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 71.4 cm, the weight of the bow is 58 g. This top level bow is in excellent condition, suitable for a soloist or a demanding collector.
