French violin bow by Louis Joseph Thomassin, c. 1895.

A fine French violin bow made by Louis Thomassin, ca. 1895. This is a beautiful example (comes from important collection) from excellent French bow maker who was the most important pupil and assistant of F.N. Voirin from 1871-1885. The bow is made on personal model inpired by F.N. Voirin style, branded ‘L. THOMASSIN A PARIS’  and it sounds/handles great! The bow is overall in a fine state of preservation with small repair on the back part of the head (little part of wood pushed and glued back probably after rehair with tight plug). The length of the stick is 72.9 cm and the weight of the bow is 60 g.
