French certified violin bow by Francois Xavier Bazin, ca. 1860-1865.

A fine French violin bow made by Francois Bazin ca. 1860-1865. F.X. Bazin was important and very interesting bow maker. He was influenced by the great Dominique Peccatte (some sources suggest also trained by). Certain bows (including this particular example) pointing out to connection with Simon family. This is a good example from the maker’s late period of work in a very good, all original state of preservation (one, possibly original saw mark on the top of the middle part of the stick that is visible on the long upper part photo, few small cracks on the frog).
This is excellent sounding and fine handling violin bow. The length of the stick is 72.9 cm and the weight is 57.5 g (with light tinsel winding).
