French violin bow by Jean-Dominique Adam ca. 1840.
A rare, fine French violin bow made by Jean-Dominique Adam ca. 1840 (the button by Jean “Grand” Adam). The stick is golden brown pernambuco of superior choice and figuration. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. This is a 1st class sounding and handling bow, wonderful quality and pleasure to play with. The length of the stick is 72 cm cm and the weight of the bow is 57 g (with light silk winding).
