A rare, very fine German violin bow made by Christian Wilhelm Knopf ca. 1810. This is a great example, also a first class solo level playing bow. The stick is red brown pernambuco, octagonal in shape. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 72.8 cm, the weight of the bow is 61 g. This wonderful bow is in excellent state of preservation (retaining an original head plate), suitable for a soloist or a demanding collector.
