French violin bow by Nicolas Joseph Harmand, ca. 1830
A rare, fine French violin bow made by Nicolas Joseph Harmand ca. 1830, branded “HARMAND”. This is a wonderful classical bow, made in personal style that was inspired probably by the work of Etienne Pajeot and Francois Lupot II. The stick is fine dark chocolate color pernambuco, octagonal; the frog is ebony and silver, the button is ebony with two silver rings. This is excellent playing bow bow in a very fine state of preservation. The weight of the bow is 59 g.
